The in form Bass stable had 6 winners on the weekend taking their seasonal tally to101 winners, while the inform Karl Neisius booted home 5 winners on Sunday which moved his score to102.

Our Assistant Cape team, Candice Robinson, Trevor Taylor and Betina Van Schalkwyk deserve full credit. To date, we have had 13 winners and 2 group 1 places which includes 8 victories in the last week alone in Cape Town

Robert Faydherbe is doing an equally good job in Durban. Gaultier ran out an excellent second in the Mercury Sprint behind JJ The Jet Plane which was a cracker from him considering his previous form. Both Rushing Wind and Blue Tiger ran very good races to finish in 5th and 6th respectively. Rushing Wind coming from a long way back with a strong tail wind blowing and Blue Tiger who was drawn on the inside of the track.

Staying with JJ, it was just incredible to watch the Champion arrive with such consummate ease and although we had runners in the race to root for, it is always such an honour to watch a true Champion like him arrive for his followers. A big congrats to all the connections and to Lucky Houdelakis for a superb training feat considering the niggles he had with him the week prior.

Karl Neisius is doing a terrific job at the moment and is oozing confidence in his riding. A magnificent finish aboard Monsieur Dupont in the second on Sunday set him up for a cracking day of 5 winners moving his tally for the season to 102, 29 wins ahead of 2nd placed Bernard fayd'Herbe on the log. The cool veteran looks likely to secure his 14^th Cape Championship when the season closes in August.
