Supporting July races: Mike comments on his runners
Mark Bass,  22/07/2010

Merit Rated 78 Handicap

Bluemambo

Draw: 15

Ridden by: Karl Neisius

Was difficult to restrain last time. We will try and drop him out and settle him this time. If he finds his best form, he could be a surprise here.

Gr 3 Scweppes 2200m (Consolation July)

Thanks John

Draw: 7

Ridden by: Karl Neisius

He is doing very well and should be well fancied in this race. The only negative for him is if whether he can stay in touch with the field as he tends to drop out in the running which makes it difficult to make up the difference. He is in great shape at the moment and we rate him in with a big chance here.

Super storm

Draw: 8

Ridden by: Jeff Lloyd

In his last run in the derby he was badly drawn and had too much ground to make up. Although he is only a 3 year old he comes in well weighted here and we think he will go very well this time from his reasonable draw of 8.

Gr 2 Mercedes –Benz Gold Vase

Grisham

Draw: 6

Ridden By: Aldo Domeyer

He Failed at Scottsville last time but is doing well in Durban. He tries the distance for the first time and he could surprise at the weights over this trip if he sees it out. His work is very good.

Golden Parachute

Daw: 19

Ridden by: Jeff Lloyd

He disappointed us last time but we have freshened him up nicely and he takes his chances again. He is capable and If he runs his best race he will be in with an each way chance.

Gr 1 Premier’s Champion Stakes

English Garden

Draw: 9

Ridden By: Bernard Fayd’Herbe

Won well in his second start despite still racing very green. He finds himself against many unknown quantities which makes it difficult for us to rate his chances as there is no collateral form to go by. He has improved since then and we think he might well find the money if things go his way.

FM 82 Handicap (F&M) 1600m

We Have Lift Off

Draw: 5

Ridden By: C Maujean

Seems to be improving steadily, but it remains to be seen how she shapes up in a field like this. She has a possible place chance.
