Australian superstar Black Caviar is 'bright as a button' following her 30-hour flight from Melbourne, according to her vet Peter Angus. The six-year-old mare, unbeaten in 21 races, arrived in England on Thursday and will be based at Jane Chapple-Hyam's Newmarket stable from where she will be aimed at the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot on June 23.

The three-year-old won the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes in May and would have been attempting to become the 12th US Triple Crown winner and the first since the Steve Cauthen-ridden Affirmed in 1978. Trainer Doug O'Neill said: 'Pulling him isn't tragic but it's a huge disappointment.'
