Race Report Kenilworth, Tuesday, 4/11/08 Event: Race 4, Maiden Plate Distance: 1600m Finished: 1st Post Race Comments: Broke smartly from a bad draw and raced up handy, pulling away from the field in the straight and winning very impressively. He looks a good sort in the making and may just be a bit special. Race Report Kenilworth, 18/11/08 Event: Race 4, Macsteel Novice Plate Distance: 1600m Finished: 1st Post Race Comments: Raced up front in a small field and went on well in the straight to win a good race. There was a slight hiccup however as the bit slipped through his mouth soon after the start and he had to run the rest to the race with just the rein through his mouth and not the bit. Karl was of the opinion that he would have done a lot better had he had more control over Fort Vogue, so under the circumstances this was a very fine effort. Race Report Kenilworth, 30/11/08 Event: Race 8, Selangor Cup (Grade 2) Distance: 1600m Finished: Unplaced Post Race Comments: Drawn at pole position, his lack of racing experience told as he was over racing very badly on the fence. In fact, he was pulling that hard that at 200m out he had no more to come and the jockey didn’t persevere with him to the line. As a result he dropped out. We are confident that with racing experience, he will learn to settle in due course. Race Report Kenilworth, 23/12/08 Event: Race 5, Graduation Plate Distance: 1800m Finished: 4th Post Race Comments: Dropped in from the back of the field to teach him to settle, he responded well. In the straight he ran on very strongly, but was unfortunately hampered on the rail and had to switch. He finished 4th, but could well have gone a lot closer, given a clear run. This was a very promising effort. Race Report Kenilworth, 10/01/09 Event: Race 9, Jameson Gold Politician Stakes (Listed) Distance: 1800m Finished: Unplaced Post Race Comments: Dropped out from a bad draw to the rear of the field. Jockey Neisius said that he was never comfortable in the running. He ran on a little in the straight, but was pulled out of the race by Karl. No obvious lameness was found and it appears as if it has been a little too much for him too soon. Race Report Clairwood, 10/6/09 Event: 6, MR 84 Handicap Distance: 1600m Finished: Unplaced Post Race Comments: Dropped out to the tail of the field from a bad draw. He ran on very well in the straight and made steady progress till the 200m mark where he was badly interfered with and had to check out of it. This was a promising first run back after gelding. Vogue Race Report Greyville, 10/7/09 Event: Race 5, Hillcrest Toyota MR 78 Handicap Distance: 1600m Finished: 1st Post Race Comments: Managed to overcome his bad draw soon after the break and was well placed all the way around. He quickened impressively in the straight to win a good race. He looks to be back to his best after gelding and should carry on with his winning ways. Race Report Clairwood, 8/8/09 Event: Race: 6, MR 90 Handicap Distance: 1600m Finished: 2nd Post Race Comments: Was perhaps a little unlucky not to have won as he was interfered with in the straight, being baulked for a run. An objection was lodged by the jockey, but we agree that he had very little chance of succeeding. We feel that he can do better than that and will now prepare him for the summer season. Race Report Kenilworth, 3/10/09 Event: Race 5, Merit Rated 87 Handicap Distance: 1200m Finished: 2nd Post Race Comments: Showed a lot of pace in this sprint round the turn and ran on pretty well in the straight. He was unlucky not to have won as he was baulked for a run and lost momentum at the 200m mark. Race Report Kenilworth, 7/11/09 Event: Race 5, Merit Rated 96 Handicap Distance: 1400m Finished: Post Race Comments: Reared in the pens. A fake start was called and the race was declared null and void. He was pulled up after the start. We galloped him after the last race and he worked very well. Race Report Kenilworth, 18/11/09 Event: Race 7, Merit Rated 94 Handicap Distance: 1600m Finished: 1st Post Race Comments: Ran wide most of the way around, but picked it up well when coming up the outside in the straight. He went on to win a very good race and looks to have a future. Race Report Kenilworth, 13/12/09 Event: 7, Midmar Premier Trophy (Grade 2) Distance: 1800m Finished: 2nd Post Race Comments: Ran a cracking race, but unfortunately the gale force headwind made it near impossible to make up ground. The winner had things go his way all his run way up front. Race Report Kenilworth, 5/01/10 Event: Race7, Peninsula Handicap (Grade 2) Distance: 1800m Finished: 1st Post Race Comments: Ran a very good race again to make up the ground in a rather slow run race. He continues to improve and should go on from here. Race Report Kenilworth, 30/01/10 Event: Race 7, J & B Met (Grade 1) Distance: 2000m Finished: 4th Post Race Comments: Ran an outstanding race and is making very good improvement. He moved up close to home and looked a likely winner before weakening slightly to run 4th. He will now have a well deserved rest. Race Report Greyville, 21/5/10 Event: Race 7, Betting World 1900 (Grade 2) Distance: 1900m Finished: 5th Post Race Comments: Raced a little out of his ground, but was running on well at the finish. He will certainly come on from this run. Race Report Clairwood, 11/7/10 Event: Race 4, Pinnacle Stakes Distance: 1800m Finished: 2nd Post Race Comments: We are very happy with this run under the circumstances as tactics are always an important factor in a small field like this. He looks to be on track for the big one and will come on from this run.
