Race Report Kenilworth, 2/12/08 Event: Race 1, Maiden Plate Distance: 1200m Finished: Unplaced Post Race Comments: Raced a little green early on, but ran on quite nicely all the way to the line to finish just out of the placings. This seems to be a promising effort over 1200m and Jockey Hatt was quite impressed with him. We are very satisfied with his debut as we feel that he will be an out and out stayer. Race Report Kenilworth, 16/12/08 Event: Race 9, Equimark Maiden Plate Distance: 1600m Finished: 5th Post Race Comments: First run round the turn, he was still a little green and out of his ground, but her ran on quite well to finish 5th. This was a very satisfactory run and he has scope for lots more improvement with time. Race Report Kenilworth, 13/01/09 Event: Race 2, Maiden Plate Distance: 2500m Finished: 1st Post Race Comments: Although he was still very green, he did very well to cope with this distance in only his third start. Racing a few lengths off the pace, he ran on strongly in the straight to win well. He has lots of improvement to make and given enough time, he looks as though he may develop into a good stayer. Race Report Kenilworth, 25/02/09 Event: Race 5, MR 78 Handicap Distance: 1800m Finished: 4th Post Race Comments: Ran a fair race but failed to quicken up in the straight over the 1800m and will be better suited to more distance. Race Report Durbanville, 14/3/09 Event: Race 3, The Month of March MR 78 Handicap Distance: 2400m Finished: Unplaced Post Race Comments: Unfortunately was placed near the tail of the field in the running and didn’t really get much chance to make up the deficit in a slow run race. This run is best ignored. Race Report Durbanville, 14/4/09 Event: Race 6, MR 76 Handicap Distance: 2400m Finished: 5th Post Race Comments: Not suited to this track, he was nevertheless a bit unlucky not to win as he couldn’t get well enough placed and found trouble in the straight. He was running on well to finish a close up 5th. Race Report Kenilworth, 2/5/09 Event: Race Betting World Muizenberg MR 76 Handicap Distance: 2500m Finished: 2nd Post Race Comments: Suffered very bad interference up the straight which cost him from winning. He did, however, come back after that to finish 2nd. This was very unfortunate as there was no doubt that he would have won. Race Report Clairwood, 10/6/09 Event: 5, MR 83 Handicap Distance: 2000m Finished: Unplaced Post Race Comments: Working well at home, but this was a puzzling run as he didn’t seem to do anything right in the race. He dropped himself out near the tail of the field and didn’t run on particularly well. The last two jockeys to have ridden him suggested that he wears blinkers, so we will go that route next time. Race Report Greyville, 4/7/09 Event: Race 1, Blackberry Curve MR 80 Handicap Distance: 2400m Finished: 1st Post Race Comments: Still a little green in the running, but went on well to win a good race. He should improve in time. Race Report Durbanville, 15/9/09 Event: Race 6, International Soccer 4 MR 94 Handicap Distance: 1800m Finished: 8th Post Race Comments: Found this race too short and quick and never really got into it. As a prep run however, it was quite satisfactory and will have brought him back to best. Race Report 7/10/09 Event: Race 7, Settler’s Trophy (Listed) Distance: 2400m Finished: 3rd Post Race Comments: Good run in this company, he was perhaps a little unlucky according to his jockey. He should make steady improvement from here and looks a good prospect for staying runs in the future. Race Report Kenilworth, 31/10/09 Event Race: 6, Woolavington Handicap (Listed) Distance: 2400m Finished: 2nd Post Race Comments: Being badly drawn, Jockey Coetzee couldn’t really place him very well. He ran a very good race, finishing a flying 2nd from the tail of the field. He ran as well as he could under the circumstances. Race Report Kenilworth, 30/01/10 Event: Race 10, PJ & B Reserve Stayers (Grade 2) Distance: 2800m Finished: 2nd Post Race Comments: Ran his best race to date to finish a good 2nd and could have an exiting future in the staying ranks. Race Report Kenilworth, 3/4/10 Event: Race 5, Graduation Plate Distance: 1800m Finished: Unplaced Post Race Comments: Had every chance, but found this field too strong over this distance. Race Report Greyville, 5/6/10 Event: Race 6, Woolavington 2000 (Grade 1) Distance: 2000m Finished: 15th Post Race Comments: El Jadida dropped in to the back of the field from her wide draw and got a clod in her eye, after which she took no real interest. She had a very swollen eye on Sunday morning. This run is best ignored. Race Report Greyville, 26/6/10 Event: Race 7, Canon Gold Cup (Grade 1) Distance: 3200m Finished: Unplaced Post Race Comments: Unfortunately raced wide all the way round, but he still ran on quite well in the straight. He may need blinkers at the Greyville track next time. Race Report Clairwood, 11/7/10 Event: Race 5, Merit Rated 95 Handicap Distance: 2500m Finished: 6th Post Race Comments: Raced quite handily this time, but didn’t quicken up as expected. He wore blinkers this time, but seems to be better when dropped out in a race.
