Neat, quality Rakeen colt. Medium sized, he looks to have a chance of being a classic type. Should be best at 1600m – 2000m. Race Report Clairwood, 24/6/09 Event: Race 2, Monteagle / Contactim Maiden Plate Distance: 1200m Finished: Unplaced Post Race Comments: Needed his first run and raced quite green. He will make plenty of improvement in time to come. Race Report Clairwood, 12/7/09 Event: Race 1, Rathmor Stud Maiden Juvenile Plate Distance: 1200m Finished: Unplaced Post Race Comments: Ran a better race this time when fitted with a tongue tie. Well placed initially, he lost it a bit in the middle part of the race and then ran on well at the end again. He looks to need a little more ground. Race Report Clairwood, 5/8/09 Event: Race 3, Niyana Trading Maiden Plate (3 year olds) Distance: 1600m Finished: 3rd Post Race Comments: Ran well over the extra. Shows good potential and will be rested and gelded now. Race Report Durbanville, 15/9/09 Event: Race 1, PSL Soccer 6 Maiden Plate Distance: 1400m Finished: 2nd Post Race Comments: Was fresh enough to run a good 1400m, but unfortunately ran out of it at the finish to be 2nd. He needed this run a little and will need further next time. Race Report Durbanville, 4/11/09 Event: Race 4, Maiden plate Distance: 1600m Finished: 1st Post Race Comments: Was strongly fancied to win this time and duly obliged. Always travelling well, he ran on strongly to win quite well. He should stay even further in time. He is still making gurgling noises from choking up slightly but is much improved. Race Report Kenilworth, 29/11/09 Event: Race 4, Merit Rated 80 Handicap Distance: 1800m Finished: 2nd Post Race Comments: Ran a very good second. He travelled well all the way around and moved up beautifully to pounce, but just couldn’t quite get past the pacemaker, who was getting weight from him. It was a very promising run. Race Report Kenilworth, 23/12/09 Event: Race 6, Merit Rated 86 Divided Handicap (3 year olds) Distance: 1600m Finished: 2nd Post Race Comments: Unfortunately was unlucky not to win. He ran into a box in the crucial stages of making his run. Race Report Kenilworth, 9/01/10 Event: Race 9, Anthonij Rupert Wines Politician Stakes (Listed) Distance: 1800m Finished: 6th Post Race Comments: Was well placed and was travelling well, but choked up in the straight and was unable to go through with his run. Race Report Kenilworth, 24/2/10 Event: Race 4, Novice Plate Distance: 1600m Finished: 5th Post Race Comments: Choked up once again in the race and finished 5th. Race Report /5/10 Event: Race 7, Merit Rated 98 Divided Handicap Distance: 1450m Finished: 1st Post Race Comments: Despite needing the run he ran on very well to win. The operation on his throat appears to have been a success and he should go on to improve from here. Race Report Greyville, 18/6/10 Event: Race 7, Pinnacle Stakes Distance: 1800m Finished: 1st Post Race Comments: Much improved from his first run and again won a very good race. This was a good prep run for the Derby on the 3rd of July which will be his next run. Race Report Clairwood, 3/7/10 Event: Race: 7, Gold Circle Derby (Grade 2) Distance: 2400m Finished: 6th Post Race Comments: Had to drop out from a bad draw and had no luck in the running, always running last in a strung out field. Although running on well in the straight, he had no hope to catch the leaders and this run has to be ignored.
